When you connect your shop to Unify, you may notice that the store code on your Google Business Profile (GBP) has changed. Here's why.
What is a store code?
A store code is the internal identifier Google uses to match a GBP location to a product feed. It isn't visible to shoppers — it only links your inventory to the right location behind the scenes.
What changed
Unify standardises store codes across all connected retailers so they reliably match:
- Your GBP location
- Your live stock feed
- Your products across Google Search and Maps
If your old store code didn't follow our format, we'll have replaced it with a standardised one during setup.
What this affects
- Nothing visible to shoppers
- Your existing GBP listing, reviews, photos, and ratings are all preserved
- Only the internal identifier has changed
What you don't need to do
- No need to update anything in your POS
- No need to tell customers
- No need to re-verify your GBP
If you use the store code anywhere else (for example, in your own analytics or other connected tools), let us know and we'll share the new code so you can update those references.
